Plastic printing made simple
Published:  26 July, 2008

As sole UK and Ireland distributor for Ruco printing inks, Kaye-Dee, supplies a number of products into the plastics industry, including the 945UV, 080UV and T40 inks.

Developed specifically for screen printing onto PET hollowware, Ruco's 945UV ink is ideal for the cosmetics and beverage industries. Inks can be applied to blow moulded, stretch blow moulded and recycled PET with good reactivity. Adhesion modifiers are not required and in most cases, there is no need for pre-flame treatment.

Inks in the 080UV series were developed  for dry offset printing onto food containers, such as yoghurt pots, made from polypropylene and polystyrene. The low-migration inks are ITX-free, and boast good adhesion and wear resistance.

Finally, series T40 pad printing inks can be used on a variety of plastic substrates, such as pre-treated polyolefines as well as PS, ABS, PA, PC and rigid PVC. They are free from cyclohexanones and aromatic compounds and are said to offer good chemical and mechanical resistance with high elasticity. T40 inks comply with the DIN EN 71 toy standard and due to their fast drying characteristics, they can be used on pad printing machines with speeds of up to 4,000 pieces per minute.
