With more than 350 individuals already signed-up, Fespa's new online networking site, the Wide Network, is the ideal place for wide format digital print professionals to share ideas and discuss current issues.
Each member has their own profile page, which can be personalised with information on their professional interests, current job roles, pictures and videos, with a view to securing interest from new business contacts within the industry. As a hub for the global digital print community, the network also provides a number of communication mediums to facilitate peer networking and interaction.
Email, instant messaging, blogs and discussion forums are all available on the site, enabling users to source input from other print professionals. Members can also create or join online groups relating to particular interests, such as the Planet-Friendly Group, which helps members keep abreast of environmental news. The site's group facility also provides a way to lobby
or champion causes. Finally, the blogging feature allows members to share their thoughts with other professionals.
Fespa's corporate communications, Marcus Timson, said: "Online social networking is a valuable tool for sharing information, monitoring public opinion and interacting with industry peers. Already people across the globe are helping one another to get the best value from their technologies and this is a core Fespa value."
