A cut above
Published:  30 October, 2008

Mutoh Europe  has introduced a new sign cutting plotter, designed to offer enhanced productivity and ease of use in applications such as signage, vehicle decoration, window graphics and sticker production.

The SC-PRO 1400 1600mm wide friction-feed cutting plotter can handle roll and sheet media. Maximum cutting width is 1385mm and the machine features four repositionable pressure rollers, for different media widths. The two middle rollers have reduced pressure and can be disabled to eliminate roller marks on sensitive or pre-printed media and the system can handle off-cuts down to 200mm. Cutting force is adjustable from 20 to 450g for optimum results on a range of materials and cutting speed is adjustable up to 1000mm/s at a maximum acceleration of 2.75G.

Equipped with a solid drag knife cutting head, the SC-PRO can cut a range of materials, from self-adhesive PVC to sandblast, up to a maximum thickness of 1mm. The automatic sheet-off feature allows slicing of media up to 1400mm wide, while the head integrates a laser tool for accurately measuring automatic contour cutting data.

Built for maximum productivity, the SC-PRO 1400 is ready to produce volume cutting of repetitive jobs, corporate signs and in-house sign making for shop chains or large grocery stores.
