Learning opportunities abound at Fespa Digital 2009. The event, which runs 12 to 14 May in Amsterdam, aims to provide visitors with a programme of knowledge-sharing initiatives to inspire and help printers reach their business goals in challenging economic conditions.
The Digital Innovations Showcase Theatre programme spans the three-day exhibition, comprising 18 free sessions hosted by authorities from print and associated industries. Fespa's own stand will provide an additional stage for industry learning, with interactive lunchtime debates and interviews with key digital print figures. Finally, delegates can attend Fespa's second Digital Textile Conference, designed to address trends and opportunities in this sector.
With topics such as 'Winning business in the credit crunch', the Showcase Theatre seminars address the current economic climate. Other sessions provided by companies such as Durst, EFI, Epson, Esko Graphics, Mutoh and Robert Horne Group will include: maximising profit with inkjet; interweaving print technology; the practical aspects of operating UV inkjet printers and; the differences between digital and traditional printing. Specialist advisor on best practices to the EU Environmental Agency and co-author of Fespa's Planet Friendly Guide, Paul Machin, will also lead a session on environmentally sustainable printing.
Fespa managing director, Frazer Chesterman, said: "Every hour of every day at the show, there is an opportunity to learn or be inspired. This concentration of knowledge can set printers on the path to succeed despite the difficult climate. No other wide format industry event offers this unique range for learning opportunities under one roof."
