Green Technology is a hit
Billed as its first printer to utilise latex printing technology, HP announces that it has installed 85 Designjet L65500 printers in EMEA since its launch in May last year.
Claimed to help print service providers (PSPs) increase their capacity and reduce environmental impact, the printers feature HP latex inks, which do not produce ozone during printing and contain no hazardous air pollutants. A range of recyclable substrates is also available, providing further environmental benefits. The printer allows PSPs to fulfil new applications including medical and food industries.
The European Digital Press Association (EDP) recognised the HP Designjet L65500 printer as its Environmental Digital Printer for 2009, while HP latex ink won the Ink-jet Ink award for 2009.
Marketing director, HP Graphic Solutions Business, Imaging and Printing Group EMEA, François Martin, commented: "We're pleased that HP's ongoing efforts to address the environmental impact of the graphic arts market have been recognised with these awards. As environmental considerations continue to rise up the agenda for PSPs and brand owners, HP is committed to providing the best solutions both for our customers and for the planet."
